Biography

From childhood, Ari Lesser has defined his life by music. At age 10, his parents placed a guitar in his hands, and he has been unlocking the capabilities of the instrument since. Whether playing rock, classical or jazz, Lesser infuses his music with learned technique and raw passion. In 2005, he began his formal studies at the Peabody Conservatory in Baltimore, Maryland studying Classical Guitar under Scott Matejicka.

After graduating high school in Baltimore, Lesser was accepted to the Hartt School of Music at the University of Hartford, where he majored in acoustical engineering and music, studying classical guitar under Christopher Ladd and jazz guitar under Rich Goldstein. After graduating in 2011, Lesser moved to New York City and has been studying with guitar legend Randy Johnston and Guitarist of Lettuce, Adam “Shmeans” Smirnoff.
